Captain McDonald was a Mariner and Businessman based out of the port of Souris. He was twice married, first to Elizabeth Mary Worthington who died shortly after childbirth, leaving two children; Hugh Stephen and Catherine C., who died in infancy. Catherine and her mother were buried in this cemetery. Captain McDonald's second wife was Mary Ann (Bornish) MacDonald from Pisquid, who as a widow remarried to James Gillis. Stephen and Mary Ann had an infant daughter Mary C. whose remains were also interred here. Mary Ann worked as a Priest's housekeeper prior to her marriage. At Mary Ann's passing in 1925, her remains were interred in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
Capt. McDonald's son Hugh left P.E.I. for the Boston States and was successful in life up to his passing on October 25, 1928. His remains were buried in the Boston area.
