Adopt a Stone

This is a program that may be of interest to descendants of those buried in the cemetery.  We are soliciting contributions that will be applied to the restoration of specific stones.  We plan to ultimately restore as many stones as our funding permits over time, and this provides an opportunity to focus your contributions.  As you can see in the photo, many stones, have fallen into the ground and must be carefully removed, restored and erected.  We have a lot of work to do.Stephen Ryan

For those who wish to "Adopt a Stone", but do not have a specific stone in mind, we can apply your funds to those stones that are planned for restoration and notify you of the stone restoration that you have sponsored.  We also have a list of individuals who are buried in the cemetery, and for whom their stones cannot be located, and we plan to provide new memorials in their honor.

How much does it cost?

The cost to restore a stone will vary, and as you can see in the photos, the stones are of various size and stage of deterioration.  We are estimating that the average cost of a stone restoration would be approximately $100, for the masonry and related work.  Some stones will cost several hundred dollars to restore, so we may need several donors to support the restoration, in cases where the general fund does not have sufficient funding.

How do I get started?

How to Donate

Our fund-raising efforts are now devoted towards supporting the ongoing preservation of the cemetery.  The cemetery receives no funding from the Parish, so aside from whatever government grants we can obtain, preservation efforts are funded from available funds and ongoing donations.

All funds raised go towards the preservation of the cemetery, and no salaries are paid to any of the organizing committee, who support this effort as volunteers.  Funds will go to support activities related to landscaping, gravestone maintenance, and other activities as needed to maintain the cemetery.   We offer two methods to support the ongoing preservation efforts - online through Paypal (a secure method for donating) or by mail, so you can use whatever method you are more comfortable using.
