William McCormack (1891)

THE DAILY PATRIOT, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 1891

DEATH: MACCORMACK:  Died at the Roman Catholic Hospital, Charlottetown, on Friday, the 20th inst., William Wallace McCormack, Esq., late of Souris, fifth son of Donald and Mary McCormack, late of Black Bush, Township Forty-five, in the thirty-second year of his age. Deceased was an energetic enterprising young business man of the most unblemished character and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. Last winter he met with a heavy loss by fire, having lost a large amount of stock on which there was no insurance. It is also supposed that he received injuries which culminated in his sickness shortly after the fire. He took sick early in July last and having partially recovered he went to Charlottetown to consult the best medical skill he could get; but alas, it was too late, and on Friday evening last his spirit peacefully passed away.

His remains were forwarded to Harmony station by forenoon train on Saturday last, where his friends met his lifeless form and conveyed it to the home of his brother at Black Bush. The funeral from his brother’s residence to St. Margaret’s church on Sunday last was the most numerously attended that ever went to St. Margaret’s cemetery, being attended by 86 carriages. We sincerely sympathize with the friends of the deceased. Requiescat in pace.
