Joseph Gillis and his two wives.  Joseph was the husband of Sarah (nee McCormack) & Sarah (nee McAulay) Gillis.

Mary Ann Gillis (1879)

Mary Ann Gillis, of Hay River, died Sept. 26, 1879, age 22.

She was the wife of John Daniel, (nee McDonald) Gillis.

DEATH: GILLIS - At Hay River, on the 17th inst., Mary Ann, the beloved child of John D. and Mary Jane Gillis, aged 7 days. The bereaved parents are in a melancholy way about their dear child to be lying here in the cold grave side by side with seven more of their dear children.

Darling baby, thou has left us
In this world of toil and care,
But we hope to meet in Heaven,
In that land most bright and fair.

Clorema Ruth, an infant child, James Leo, Mary Ann Matilda, Mary Hyacinthe and Mary Lucretia Gillis were children of daughter of John Daniel & Mary Jane (Montgomery) Gillis.
